アフリカの紛争と平和構築に関する教科書の読解を通じて基本的な分析枠組みを身につけるとともに、ディスカッションを通じて自分の意見を説明する能力を涵養する。

Acquiring a basic analytical framework of the conflict and peacebuilding in Africa through the reading of a standard textbook, and developing the capacity of expressing opinions through discussion.

アフリカの紛争と平和構築に関する教科書を用い、重要な６つの章をピックアップして、読解と議論の時間を設ける。読解は担当者による報告に講師からの補足説明を加える形とする。議論は、事前の課題に基づいてグループディスカッションを行う。ルワンダのプロテスタント人文・社会科学大学（PIASS）・開発学部・平和紛争学科の佐々木和之准教授のクラスとオンラインでつなぎ、共同で授業を行う。ディスカッションでは、本学の学生がPIASSの学生と意見交換できるよう工夫する。
授業日は次の通り(５限、６限)。1月26日（1，2回）、27日（3，4回）、28日（5，6回）、31日（7，8回）、2月1日（9，10回）、2日（11，12回）、3日（13，14回）、4日（15回）

A standard textbook on conflict and peacebuilding in Africa will be used in the class. Six chapters in the book will be picked up for the comprehensive learning and discussion. Some students will be designated beforehand to make presentations for the comprehensive learning. Supplementary comments will be provided by lecturers. Then, discussion will be conducted, under the facilitation of the lecturers, among students. This class will be jointly conducted with Dr. Kazuyuki Sasaki, a senior lecturer and the head of Peace and Conflict Studies, faculty of Development Studies at Protestant Institute of Arts and Social Sciences (PIASS).
The 15 classes will be held at 5th and 6th period on the following days: 26 January (1,2), 27 Jan. (3,4), 28 Jan. (5,6), 31 Jan (7,8), 1 Feb (9,10), 2 Feb (11,12), 3 Feb (13,14), 4 Feb (15)

授業参加・発表・コメントシート50%、レポート50%。
１．コメントシート：6回の読解＋議論の授業の中で、任意の2日間について、学びや気づきを提出する。（日本語または英語。Google Formを設定する。締め切り2月6日。早めの提出が望ましい）
２．レポート：授業を通じて得た、アフリカの紛争に関する学びをレポートにまとめる。（英語。分量は、800~1300 words。締め切り2月13日予定） このレポートはPIASS学生とも共有する。

Participation in the discussion and presentation + comment sheet: 50%
Final report 50%
Students are required to participate actively in the discussion. They will make a presentation at least once for the summary of a designated chapter in the text.
Students are required to submit two comment sheets for any two days among the following six days: 27, 28, 31 January, 1, 2, and 3 February. The comment sheet should be written in Japanese or English. For the submission, a Google Form link will be announced. The final deadline is 6 February, though earlier submission is recommended.
Students are also required to submit the final report, in which what they learned in the class shall be described in English. The volume shall be between 800 and 1300 words. The final deadline is 13 February. The reports will be shared with students of PIASS.
