Gender and Career Development: An International Comparative Perspective

本コースの目的は、様々な国の多様なキャリア形成のパターンと慣行を調査し、それらがどのようにジェンダーと関連するかを分析する。本コースでは、１）グループ・プロジェクトの実施、２）プレゼンテーション、３）ディスカッション、４）プロジェクトペーパーの執筆のスキルも身につける。

The objective of this course is to examine various different career development practices and patterns in the world, and analyse how those practices and patterns relate to gender issues in various countries. The course also aims to provide students with opportunities to develop skills in 1) conducting group projects, 2) presentation; 3) discussion; and 4) writing a project paper.

本コースは以下の３つのパートに分けられる：１）様々な国の事例を調査することにより、国際的な観点から、ジェンダーとキャリア形成に関する知識を得る、２）特定の国に関して調査するグループ・プロジェクトを実施する、３）調査結果を発表し討議する。

|
This course is divided into main three parts: 1) acquiring knowledge of gender and career development from international perspectives by examining cases from various countries; 2) conducting a group research project into a case study of a chosen country; 3) presentation and discussion in the class.

授業のとりまとめとリサーチ・ペーパー執筆の準備
映像から分析するジェンダー
社会におけるジェンダー関係をテーマとする映画・ドラマなどの映像作品を1点選び、視聴する。集中講義終了後1週間後の締め切りまでにリサーチ・リポートを提出する。
リサーチ対象国を選び、歴史、現状、課題などについて調査を実施する。調査は集中講義第一日目終了後実施し、翌日の授業内でグループ、クラス内で発表し討議を進める。

Wrap up and preparation for writing a research report
Analysing gender from video works
Choose and view one visual material such as a film or a TV drama to submit research report on the material. Due after one week of the intensive class.
Choose one country to conduct research into gender relations after the first day of the intensive class. Group and class discussion will be conducted on the second day.

Criteria for the evaluation:
Group presentation – structure, contents, originality, analytical skill, presentation skills, time management, and Q&A management.
Progress report and reflection sheet – Clearly present progress made in each session, knowledge acquired, how the class and activities can be used and improved for the future study.
Participation in the class – actively participate in the class
Research report – structure, examination and analysis, appropriate reference/citation
