授業の目標   
通訳の世界について、歴史・種類・形態・訓練方法・実践・通訳研究等、様々な視点から学ぶ。
通訳者になるには何が必要か、プロ通訳者に求められることは何かが理解できるようになる。
 
Goals of the course   
The aim of this class is to have participants acquire broad knowledge on the profession of an interpreter. This class will provide an overview on the types of interpreting, necessary qualifications to become a professional interpreter.

事前・事後学習【要する時間の目安】   
予習・復習について授業中の指示に従って行うこと。

Preparation and review are required.
 
履修上の注意   
受講希望者は必ず初回のオリエンテーションに参加すること。
各授業でグループ分け行いグループワークを多く行うため、遅刻なく積極的な授業参加が求められる。
通訳・翻訳論ゼミを希望する場合は、ゼミ参加前の2年次春学期に受講しておくこと。
 
Notes   
Students are required to attend orientation.
Students are required to come to class on time so that they can actively participate in group work.
This class is a prerequisite for Interpreting and Translation Seminar.
