Introduction to South Asian Culture : From Gender Perspectives
 
授業の目標   
南アジアの社会と文化についての理解をジェンダーの観点から深めることをめざす。他文化理解に関する手法を身につける。
 
Goals of the course   
To understand South Asian society and culture from gender perspectives. To learn the comparative approach toward different cultures.
 
授業の概要   
南アジア社会のジェンダー構造について概説するとともに、１９世紀の植民地支配以降、現代に至るまでの重要なジェンダー・イシューについて、歴史的、政治的、文化的な角度から多角的に考察する。
 
Overview of the course   
General introduction to South Asian gender structures. Survey of various gender issues since British period to the present.

成績評価の方法・基準   
期間中に課するレポート（３０パーセント）と期末のレポート（７０パーセント）に基づいて総合的に評価する
 
Grading system for assessment   
Reports (30%)submitted during the semester and final report at the semester (70%)
 
事前・事後学習【要する時間の目安】   
南アジアのジェンダーに関する概説書、啓蒙書から各テーマに関する基本的な知識を得る。授業終了後は、内容をまとめメモを作成する
 
Preview/review   
To get a general knowledge related to each theme through introductory books on South Asian gender problems. To review each theme by making the memo.
