新興国のスタートアップファイナンス

Title（English）

Startup finance in Emerging markets

授業の目標

（１）新興国におけるスタートアップファイナンスの実務の全体像を理解する
（２）途上国開発と民間投資、特にスタートアップファイナンスとの歴史的な関係性と現状を理解する

Goals of the course

(1) Understand the overall picture of startup finance in emerging countries
(2) Understand the historical relationship and current state of private investment, particularly startup finance, in developing countries

授業の概要

本授業はベンチャーキャピタルへの事前知識の無い受講者が、その実務の全体像と新興国における歴史的文脈を理解し、他者に明確に説明出来るようになること、また、それによって今後の学習やキャリア選択の動機付けとすることを目的としている。

上記目的に資する為、以下の特色をもって授業を実施する。

（１）経験豊富な実務家教員

以下二名の実務家教員がメインの講義を担当する。

東京外国語大学外国語学部欧米第一課程ドイツ語専攻卒

在ボツワナ日本国大使館の立ち上げ業務、総合商社三井物産株式会社での新興国地域の鉱山事業の買収、アフリカでのベンチャーキャピタル立ち上げ等、新興国での実務経験を有する。ベンチャーキャピタル業務では累計100億円以上をファミリーオフィス、上場企業、政府機関から調達。

◆高実那美
株式会社ケップルグループ　Global Strategy Division Manager
欧州経営大学院（INSEAD）経営学修士
東京外国語大学外国語学部欧米第一課程英語語専攻卒

新卒で全日本空輸株式会社に入社し、主にマーケティング＆セールスや国際線の収入策定に従事。INSEADにてMBA取得後、シンガポールのコンサルティング会社にて、航空業界を対象に戦略策定やデューディリジェンスを行ったのち、2023年ケップルに参画。主に海外スタートアップと日本企業の提携促進や新規事業立ち上げに携わるほか、KEPPLEメディアやKEPPLE DBへの独自コンテンツの企画、発信も行う。

（２）実務家ゲスト
講義テーマに沿った実務家ゲストを招き、講演を行う。受講生との質疑応答の場を設け、講義内容の更なる理解、深化を促す。以下の二名の講演を予定。
・開発援助機関における民間投資部門の実務者
・日本におけるベンチャーキャピタル投資の実務者

（３）参加型の授業形式
一方向の講義ではなく、受講者からの質問、コメント、意見を随時求める形式で行う。また、最終日にはグループによる課題発表を行う。

Overview of the course

This course aims to provide students with no prior knowledge of venture capital with an understanding of the overall picture of the industry and its historical context in emerging countries, enabling them to explain it clearly to others and use this knowledge to motivate their future learning and career choices.

To achieve the above objectives, the course will be conducted with the following features.

(1) Experienced practitioners as instructors
The following two practitioners will be the main lecturers.

Master of Business Administration, Haas School of Business, University of California, Berkeley
Graduated from Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, Department of European Languages, German Studies

Has practical experience in emerging countries, including setting up the Japanese Embassy in Botswana, acquiring mining businesses in emerging countries at Mitsui & Co., Ltd., and launching a venture capital firm in Africa. In venture capital operations, he has raised over 10 billion yen from family offices, listed companies, and government agencies.

◆Minami Ko
Keppler Group Co., Ltd. Global Strategy Division Manager
INSEAD Master of Business Administration
Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, Department of Foreign Languages, European Studies I, English major

Joined All Nippon Airways Co., Ltd. as a new graduate, primarily engaged in marketing & sales and revenue planning for international routes. After obtaining an MBA from INSEAD, worked at a consulting firm in Singapore, where he conducted strategic planning and due diligence for the aviation industry. Joined KEPPLE in 2023. Currently, I am involved in facilitating partnerships between overseas startups and Japanese companies, as well as launching new businesses. Additionally, I plan and distribute original content for KEPPLE Media and KEPPLE DB.

(2) Practitioner guest speakers
Practitioners will be invited to give lectures on topics related to the course. A question-and-answer session with participants is held to promote further understanding and deepening of the lecture content. The following two speakers are scheduled to present.
• Practitioner from the private investment department of a development assistance agency
• Practitioner from the venture capital investment sector in Japan

(3) Participatory class format
The class is conducted in an interactive format, encouraging participants to ask questions, make comments, and share opinions throughout the session. On the final day, group presentations on assigned topics will be conducted.

会計知識が全くない場合は、参考図書を読んで基礎概念を学習すること。

履修上の注意

受講定員は20名までとし、それ以上の受講希望者があった場合には事前選考を行う。

Notes

Due to the specialized nature of some of the content, the following condition apply to enrollment
・Possess, or willing to learn to acquire before the lecture, basic knowledge of accounting at the 3rd grade level of Official Business Skills Test in Bookkeeping (日商簿記3級)

Enrollment is limited to 20 students. If there are more applicants than available spots, a preliminary selection will be conducted.
