This course aims to understand and acquire the fundamental structure and basic conversational skills of Nosu Yi, a Tibeto-Burman language spoken in Sichuan Province, China.

ノス・イ語は中国四川省に居住する少数民族・彝族の１言語である。彝族は中国少数民族の中でも上位の人口を誇り、中国西南地域の歴史と文化において重要な位置を占めてきた。彝族は多くの言語を持っているが、その中でもノス・イ語は最重要言語であり、話者数も300万人を超え、独自の文字イ文字を有する。
本授業では母語話者である沈宏とともに、ノス・イ語の基本構造（音韻・語彙・文法）を学び、基礎会話を習得することを目指す。

Nuosu Yi is a language spoken by the Yi people, an ethnic minority residing in Sichuan Province, China. The Yi people are one of the largest ethnic minorities in China and have played a significant role in the history and culture of the southwestern region. While the Yi people speak multiple languages, Nuosu Yi is the most prominent among them, with over three million speakers and its own unique script, the Yi script.
In this course, together with native speaker Shen Hong, we will study the fundamental structure of Nuosu Yi, including its phonology, vocabulary, and grammar, with the goal of acquiring basic conversational skills.

Evaluation will be based on daily attendance, active participation in discussion, and class activities which may include quizzes and the final exam of this course. Attendance is essential in this class.

本授業は、アジア・アフリカ言語文化研究所の言語研修（8月19日～9月5日全75時間）として大阪会場で実施される。通常の集中講義とは異なる日程・会場で行われるので、注意のこと。
なお、受講希望者に対するガイダンスを３月初旬又は中旬および４月にアジア・アフリカ言語文化研究所棟3階会議室で実施するので参加すること（履修登録必須要件）。日時詳細は後日学務情報システムのトップページに掲載する。9月卒業予定者は受講しないこと。
※単位互換制度を利用して受講する外部の学生は、必ず単位互換制度の手続きを期限内に完了させること。手続きの詳細は所属大学の教務課で確認すること。
※受講ガイダンスの出席（全員）および単位互換制度手続きの完了（特別聴講学生のみ）が必須となるので注意すること。

This course is offered as a part of the Intensive Language Course (ILC) of
the Research Institute for Languages and Cultures of Asia and Africa (ILCAA).
Please read carefully and note the following conditions:
1.The period of the course is from August 19 to September 5 (75
hours in total) and the venue is ILCAA in Minoh campus of Osaka University.
2. Students who intend to register for this course must participate in the
orientation of ILC, which will be held in the early or middle of March and April 2025.
3. The details of the orientation will be announced on the top page of
Information System site (https://gakumu-web1.tufs.ac.jp/portal/) in due course.
4. Participation in this orientation is a prerequisite for your
registration.
5. Students who intend to graduate by the end of the 2nd semester of 2025
cannot register for this course.
6. Please make sure that you need to complete the application for the mutual exchange of credits program by the deadline before registration of this course. For more information on the required procedures, please contact the division for educational affairs at your university.
7. Attendance at the orientation is mandatory for all students, and only eligible students are allowed to apply for the exchange of credits program.
