Title（English）

Designing and Implementing Japanese Conversation Classes

授業の目標

日本語のコミュニケーション教育の中でも、特に会話教育に関する基礎的な知識（言語運用能力、コミュニケーション能力、社会文化能力、対人関係能力、語用論的規範、コミュニケーションストラテジー、フィードバック方法、評価法、ICT、著作権）およびその教育方法を身に付けることを目的とする。また、日本語学習者と実際に日本語で会話交流することで、学習者の会話の特徴をつかみ、調整しながら話すコミュニケーションストラテジーの観察と使用ができるようになることを目指す。その上で、これらの知識と体験をもとに、独自の会話授業計画と会話教材が作成できるようになることを目標とする。なお、本授業では、日本人学生の他、様々な国・地域からの留学生が共修できるため、グループでのディスカッションや課題、発表を行う過程で、異文化間での対人関係能力、異文化調整能力を磨くことが期待される。

Goals of the course

At the end of the course, successful students should:
1. Acquire basic knowledge of the concepts involved in teaching Japanese conversation (Language delivery competence, communicative competence, Social-cultural competence, Interpersonal competence, Pragmatic norms, Communication strategies, Methods of feedback, Methods of evaluation, ICT, and Copyright) and the methods used.
2. Be able to analyze the features of conversations conducted by Japanese language learners and use communication strategies by adjusting their utterances.
3. Be able to develop their own class designs and teaching materials for learning conversation.
4. Improve their interpersonal competence and adjustment skills used in multicultural situations, through group discussions, assignments, and presentations by Japanese students and international students from various areas and countries.

授業の概要

まず、会話と会話能力、会話能力の測定と評価、外国語教授法と評価法の関係、教育工学の知見、オンラインでの会話教育、著作権、モデル会話の活用、語彙・文型の運用練習方法、談話技能、フィードバック方法といった会話教育の基礎的な知識について学ぶ。次に、日本語授業に参加して日本語学習者と交流を行い、観察レポートを作成・報告し、学習者の会話の特徴と調整方法を学ぶ。最後に、コースデザインで重要となる「研究と実践の連携」のあり方について学んだ上で、会話授業計画と会話教材を作成し、発表する。授業ではグループワークや議論を中心に行う。

Overview of the course

This course provides students with opportunities to acquire basic knowledge of Japanese conversational education, including conversation and conversational competence, the relationship between foreign language education and methods of evaluation, copyright, utilization of model conversations, methods of practicing vocabulary and grammar, discourse skills, and methods of feedback. Next, they will analyze the features of conversations conducted by Japanese language learners and learn how to adjust their utterances while communicating in Japanese language class. Then, they will learn how to establish links between research and practice, which is essential for creating course design. Based on these contents, they will develop their own teaching plans and teaching materials for learning conversations and give presentations. The course will consist primarily of discussions and group activities.
