授業の目標   
幅広い視野と知識をもち国際貢献および平和構築の分野で活躍する⼈材を養成する。とくに中東和平問題に関して概要を把握し、かつ現代にまで残る諸問題について⾃⾝の意⾒をもち論じられるようにする。
 
Goals of the course   
The aim of this course is to develop individuals with a wide range of knowledge and perspectives who can work actively in the areas of peacebuilding and international contribution. The goal is for students to gain an understanding of the Middle East peace building dilemma and be equipped to articulate thier perspectives on the ongoing concerns.
 
授業の概要   
中東地域では第⼆次世界⼤戦後の国連パレスチナ分割決議（1947 年）の後、イスラエルとパレスチナ、さらに周辺諸国や欧⽶諸国のあいだで、いくつもの戦争や紛争が起きてきた。この地域に、いかにして和平を実現するかは⻑らく議論されてきたところである。本講義ではそれらの議論を踏まえつつ、多⽅向から問題の所在を明らかにし、解決に向けた⽅策について共に考えていく。

なお、この科目の授業動画は東京大学の鈴木啓之先生のご協力により作成されています。
 
Overview of the course   
Israel and Palestine, as well as neighboring countries and Western nations, have been involved in several wars and conflicts since the United Nations Partition Plan for Palestine in 1947 after World War II. There has been discussion on how to bring about peace in the area for a long time. Based on these discussions, we will examine the problems from a variety of angles and brainstorm solutions.

The video for this course was made in collaboration with Dr. Hiroyuki Suzuki of the University of Tokyo.

成績評価の方法・基準   
1Part(15分動画）ごとの内容確認テスト　60％ 90点（1Partにつき選択式テスト2問ずつ。各1点。）
1回の講義ごとの課題　40％ 60点（1講義につき選択式のテスト1問（1点）と記述式テスト1問(3点)ずつ。）
合計150点満点で、135点以上はS、120点以上135点未満はA、105点以上120点未満はB、90点以上105点未満はC、90点未満はFとなります。
 
Grading system for assessment   
Quiz for each part (15 min Video): 60% 90 points
(Each part includes two multiple-choice questions. 1 point each.)
Assignments for each lesson: 40% 60 points
(Each lesson includes one multiple-choice question (1 point) and one written-response question (3 points).)

The total score is 150 points. Grades are assigned as follows:
S for 135 points or higher;
A for 120 points or higher but less than 135 points;
B for 105 points or higher but less than 120 points;
C for 90 points or higher but less than 105 points;
and F for less than 90 points.

毎回の授業後に小テストを受けること。必要に応じて参考文献を参照する等により復習すること。

Take a quiz after each lesson. Review the material by referring to the suggested reading list, etc., as needed.
 
履修上の注意   
※夏学期に開講される「19180025 中東和平」と同じ内容の授業ですので、反復履修は避けてください。また、過去に同一の授業題目の科目を履修し修了した方も反復履修は避けてください。

・1科目は講義15回で構成され、1回の講義時間は45分(15分動画3本)です。
・開講期間は2/8～2/12です。2/12までに全ての動画の視聴とテストの受験を終えてください。
・本講義はJV-Campusのプラットフォームを通して受講するオンデマンド授業です。本学での履修登録に加えて、JV-Campusへの利用登録が必要になります。
・JV-Campusへの登録が可能な期間は2/8～2/12です。JV-Campusへの登録に必要な登録キーは2/7までに学務情報システムにて通知します。
 
Notes   
※This course has the same content as “19180025 Middle East Peace Process” offered in the Summer quarter; therefore, repeated enrollment should be avoided. Students who have previously taken and completed a course with the same title should also refrain from enrolling again.

‐Each course consists of 15 lectures, which are 45 minutes long (3 videos of 15 minutes each).
‐The course will be available from February 8 to February 12. All videos and tests must be completed by February 12.
‐This is an on-demand class available through the JV-Campus platform. In addition to registering for the class at TUFS, you will need to register for JV-Campus.
‐The registration period for JV-Campus is from February 8 to February 12. The Enrolment key required for JV-Campus will be announced on the Gakumu Information System by February 7.
